Quentin Tarantino was horrified when studio bosses suggested he directs the big-screen version of cult '70s show Hawaii Five-O - he hates the series.

Quentin Tarantino was horrified when studio bosses suggested he directs the big-screen version of cult '70s show Hawaii Five-O - he hates the series.

Warner Bros. Pictures are currently developing a movie version of the Jack Lord-starring TV show, which ended in 1980 after 12 years.

He says: "My producing partner at the time Lawrence Bender was hanging out with some dude from Fox or Warners or whatever, and they said I should stop working on what I was doing, because I'd be so into this.

"I tried to watch the old TV show, but it sucks. I don't even like Hawaii."
