British singer Daniel Bedingfield is relying on the support of friends to get through his depression - as he battles Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
The singer has been advised by doctors to take a break in a warmer climate after hitting rock bottom with the winter illness.
Bedingfield, who has taken the medical advice and is holidaying in his native New Zealand, said: "I suffer from winter depression. I lack certain substances in my body so I get depressed easier when there is little or no light.
"I will be spending Christmas in New Zealand with lots of sun, which will help."
