The annual rate of inflation has risen by 0.6% in June, according to figures from the CSO.
Consumer Prices in June, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, increased by 0.6% in the month.
This compares to no change in June of last year and as a result, the annual rate of inflation rose to 2.3%, up from 1.7% in May.
The EU Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) increased by 0.5% in the month. This compares to an increase of 0.1% in June of last year and as a result, the annual rate of inflation as measured by the HICP rose to 2.5%, up from 2.1% in May.
The most notable changes in the year were in education, health and transport.
