Siptu has said it will oppose any move to privatise Bord na Mona.

The union says the semi-state company has the scope to develop its activities, without selling off its peat-processing concern.

Siptu general secretary, Des Geraghty, said any such change to Bord na Mona would not be in the interest of the country.
