Early morning collision kills two in Mayo

Two people have died in a car crash in Co Mayo.

Two people, aged 43 and 47, have died in a car crash in Co Mayo.

They were travelling into two separate cars which collided on the N26 near Ballina at about 5am this morning.

Their bodies have been removed to Mayo General Hospital, where post mortem examinations will be carried out later today.

The N26 between Ballina and Swinford is likely to remain closed for several hours today, as forensic crash investigators examine the scene.
