Loveable DIY hero Bob the Builder is to become the new face of British holiday company Butlins, it was announced today.

In a three-year deal, Bob has joined forced with Butlins to promote short-break holidays at the company’s coastal holiday centres at Bognor Regis in West Sussex, Minehead in Somerset, and Skegness in Lincolnshire.

From February next year, Bob and his friends from his TV series will be at each resort and will feature in a themed area with rides, games and colourful stage sets.

To celebrate the arrival of the celebrity, the Butlins Redcoats will be donning hard hats.

Now Butlins chiefs are considering plans to introduce Bob-themed accommodation for youngsters next year.

Katie Foster, European brand business director for HIT Entertainment, which includes the Bob the Builder brand, said: “We’re delighted to be taking Bob the Builder to such a great location as his first permanent UK residency.

“Butlins is so famous for entertainment and hugely popular with families.

“This is an exciting time for all involved as there are many great plans ahead for Bob at the holiday resorts.”
