A Garda has been injured in a ramming incident in County Waterford.

A Garda has been injured in a ramming incident in County Waterford.

The officer had been out on patrol in response to reports of a number of burglaries in the Lismore area when the car was struck at around 10pm.

The Garda - believed to be in his 30s - suffered back and neck injuries and is receiving treatment at Cork University Hospital.

As of yet no arrests have been made.
