Trade union officials are meeting today with hundreds of Cadbury workers facing redundancy over the next few years.
The confectionary firm has announced plans to lay off 450 staff at its facility in the Coolock area of north Dublin over the next two to three years.
Cadbury is blaming the move on higher wages and increasing costs.
AMICUS says it wants to protect as many jobs as possible and also wants to ensure that the company's defined benefit pension scheme is kept intact.
