The Sinn Féin president has said it is time that the British government stopped pandering to Ian Paisley.

The Sinn Féin president has said it is time that the British government stopped pandering to Ian Paisley.

Gerry Adams has been speaking at the party's Ard Comhairle, which is being held in Dublin today.

At it he has named the party's three representatives on the Preparation for Government Committee which is due to meet at Stormont on Monday.

They are Martin McGuinness, Michelle Gildernew and Conor Murphy.

The committee will be involved in getting Northern Ireland's power sharing Assembly back up and running.

Gerry Adams said for this to happen the British government must change its current stance:

“The British government is pandering to the DUP. Every time Ian Paisley calls upon Peter Hain to change his mind, Peter Hain obliges, so how long is that going to continue?” he said.
