Premiership: Wilnis requests transfer from Ipswich

Ipswich defender Fabian Wilnis has handed in a transfer request.

Ipswich defender Fabian Wilnis has handed in a transfer request.

Wilnis has made only 11 appearances this season, starting in only five of them.

And he has struggled to command a regular place in the first team at Portman Road since his move from DeGraafschap two years ago.

George Burley said: "I can confirm Fabian has officially asked for a transfer. Unfortunately he feels he needs first-team football at another club.

"I am disappointed by this request as there are a number of other players in my squad who are in a similar position to Fabian, but who feel prepared to battle their way into the first 11."
