Heineken Ireland reported a 38% draught market share in it interim results published today.

Heineken Ireland reported a 38% draught market share in it interim results published today.

Sales volumes increased by 0.2% in a market that declined nearly 5% during the first six months to June 2003, the company stated.

The company said that the recent introduction into the on-trade of Coors Light draught has brought substantial additional volume to the brand.

Its share of the lager market continues to show positive growth with increased sales in the draught and bottled market.

The off-trade sector shows growth of 3.7%, with Heineken Can performing strongly.

Amstel also continued to grow with the support of its association with the UEFA Champions League Campaign.

Murphy's Stout also maintained market share.

Nico Vervelde, Managing Director, Heineken Ireland said: "While the beer market is experiencing a decline, Heineken Ireland sales were above last year, thereby strongly outperforming this highly competitive market.

"We continue to invest to in all our brands to ensure a positive market share development through to year end," he added.
