Louis Saha is in contention for a starting place in Manchester United’s must-win Premiership clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Saha was troubled by an ankle problem prior to the Easter period but has trained solidly over the past fortnight and could oust Ruud Van Nistelrooy from a Red Devils line up which must beat Chelsea to prevent Jose Mourinho’s men clinching back-to-back titles.

Gabriel Heinze will miss the trip after picking up a minor groin injury on reserve team duty in midweek.

Provisional squad: Van der Sar, Howard, Neville, Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Silvestre, Evra, Ronaldo, Giggs, O’Shea, Richardson, Park, Rooney, Van Nistelrooy, Saha, Rossi, Pique.
