O'Neill: Ticket allocation for France match 'totally disproportionate and unfair'

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has said he is unhappy about the small number of tickets - just 4,604 - available to the Irish fans for their Euro 2016 last-16 match.

They face hosts France in Lyon tomorrow afternoon at 2pm.

Ireland's supporters will occupy less than 10% of the seats in the 58,000-capacity stadium.

O'Neill said: "I think it's totally disproportionate for a stadium of this size and this brilliance, to be allocated less than 5,000 tickets.

"I think it's pretty unfair really."

Earlier, Shane Long said: “It’s scandalous really, considering how good our support is...They come over in their droves, in their thousands: To be fishing around for tickets is not nice.”

Roy Keane also said: "It’s unfair, particularly the way the (fans have) travelled and what they’ve brought to the tournament."
