Blasts rock tourist site in Israel
A series of explosions were heard in the southern Israeli city of Eilat.
Israeli police later said rockets had been fired toward the southern city.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld confirmed that the blasts were caused by rockets, but said no-one was injured in Eilat.
He added that police are searching for the source of the attack.
Israeli media outlets were reporting that five rockets were fired at the city, landing nearby in the Red Sea.
No injuries or damage were reported.
In April, remains of a rocket were discovered in the waters near Eilat.
Eilat is a popular domestic and international tourist resort. Militant attacks in the area are rare.
Meanwhile, officials in Jordan said one blast hit the city of Aqaba, injuring four people.
Jordan’s information minister Ali Ayed says one rocket hit a main street in the city. He could not confirm the nationalities of the four casualties.
It was the second such attack this year. In April, rockets were fired toward Eilat and Aqaba, causing no injuries but hitting a Jordanian warehouse.
