There are fears of significant job losses at the Galtee Meat factory in Cork today following the workers' rejection of a cost-cutting plan.

The plant's owners, Dairygold, wants to reduce payroll and bonus costs and implement new work practices as part of a rationalisation plan that has seen it lay off more than 1,000 workers in the past 18 months.
