Blackburn have given two unnamed clubs permission to speak to striker Jon Stead after they met Rovers’ asking price.
Championship winners Sunderland are believed to be one of the teams interested in the England Under-21 player, who would cost around £1m (€1.5m).
Stead signed for Rovers from Huddersfield in February last year for £1.25m (€1.8m) but after scoring six goals in his 13 matches during the remainder of that campaign, he found the net only twice in 34 appearances last season.
