Gormley vows to LIFT 'boil-water notices'

Minister for the Environment John Gormley has said that he will ensure that all "boil water notices" are removed from towns affected by water crises.

Minister for the Environment John Gormley has said that he will ensure that all "boil water notices" are removed from towns affected by water crises.

His comments follow difficulties with a number of water supplies nationwide and most recently in Galway.

The minister also defended a recent move to increase the maximum penalty for offences under the Nitrates Regulations.

The regulations aim to protect water against pollution from farming.
