English star Kate Winslet hates watching herself in films because she is afraid her acting is terrible.
The 30-year-old actress, who has starred in a string of successful films including blockbuster epic Titanic and period drama Finding Neverland, can't bear to see herself on screen and changes channel if one of her movies comes on.
She says: "I saw Titanic twice and I haven't seen it for years.
"Sam (Mendes, husband) and I were channel-hopping recently and I saw it and went, 'Aaaaagh. No! Quick, quick, quick!' And he was like (mimes someone urgently trying to zap): 'Alright! Alright!'
"And sometimes I'm scared that I'm going to be hit with this awful realisation that I've been bad all these years.
"I'd rather be oblivious and that way I could still try to get better, as opposed to being depressed about how crap I was. Which is a really twisted thing to say. But it's true. It's confronting.
"Weirdly, it's a slice of yourself you're displaying to the world."
