Five-year-old hockey fan hit in head by puck, rushed to ER, back before game ends

Five-year-old James Evans is a massive fan of hockey team San Antonio Rampage.

While attending a game over the Easter weekend he was hit in the head by a stray puck, and had to be rushed to hospital.

The little boy needed staples to stem the bleeding from his head wound, but was only worried about one thing.

“He told the doctor ‘Can you hurry so I can go back to the game,” his father David told MySA.com.

He said James has been going to Rampage games since he was six weeks old and despite the injury was determined to return to the game.

They made it back to the stadium with two minutes of play to go and were able to watch the final few seconds of their team’s victory.

David made the meme to celebrate his son’s brave reaction to the injury and said James is treating his bloodied top as a badge of pride.

“He said ‘it’s a hockey shirt, it needs blood on it’.”
