The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is considering undergoing a course of chemotherapy after seeing the beneficial effect the treatment has had on bandmate Charlie Watts following his throat cancer battle.
Brown Sugar drummer Watts was diagnosed with the deadly disease last year despite having given up smoking 15 years previously, and underwent major surgery to remove a lump in his neck.
And Richards was so amazed by how revitalised Watts was on his return to the band, he believes chemotherapy could be the cure for his medical woes.
He says: "When Charlie got back he said, 'I'll show you how we're really going to play (the new tracks).'
"I said to Charlie, 'If this is what chemo does for you, I'll take it, whether I need it or not.'"
