The Government has reported a 20% increase in Ireland’s trade surplus during the first three months of this year.
The surplus for the first quarter totalled €9.7bn, with the EU accounting for 64% of Irish exports.
Medical and pharmaceutical products showed the greatest increase, while exports of computers and electrical goods declined.
