Gardai in Dublin are hunting for a lone raider who escaped with a quantity of cash in a security van raid in Finglas.

The raider was armed with a handgun, but no one was injured in the raid, which took place at around 10am on the Jamestown Rd.

He snatched a bag of wages and escaped in a waiting car. No shots were fired.

This is the latest in a series of attacks on security vans in recent months, despite the launch of Operation Discovery last year, which was specifically designed to target such raiders.
