Two held in relation to Cork death

It has now been confirmed that two men have been arrested in relation to the death of a man in Cork over the weekend.

It has now been confirmed that two men have been arrested in relation to the death of a man in Cork over the weekend.

Both men are in their 20s and were arrested shortly before lunch time today.

They are both now being questioned at Togher Garda station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act. This means that the men can be held for up to 12 hours.

After this, they must be either charged or released. The men were arrested in connection with the death of Derek O'Connell on Sunday night last.

Mr O'Connell's badly beaten body was found close to Blackrock Castle in Cork just after 7pm.
