Gerrard inspires Liverpool to victory

Steven Gerrard gave Rafael Benitez victory in the new Liverpool manager’s first home game in charge.
Manchester City had led at the break through Nicolas Anelka’s goal following Jerzy Dudek’s error and Liverpool were short of ideas in the first period.
But Milan Baros grabbed the equaliser soon after the break and Liverpool were ahead through Gerrard before City had Richard Dunne sent off for a second yellow card.
