London Irish wing Justin Bishop has successfully undergone surgery on his broken ankle in a London hospital.
Bishop was injured during the Exiles’ 14-12 Zurich Premiership win over Saracens on Sunday.
A statement form the club read: “In a medical bulletin issued this afternoon the surgeon who operated on Justin said that the operation was very successful.
“While the fibula is broken, the ankle joint is better than anticipated. Justin is expected to make a full recovery in time to take part in pre-season training and friendly matches.
“The management of the Ireland team has been kept fully informed of Justin’s medical condition and has sent its good wishes to him.
“Justin has been informed about the hundreds of messages that have been received wishing him a speedy recovery.”
