Australian TV bosses have blasted former Neighbours star Kylie Minogue for claiming her offer to appear in a 20th anniversary episode of the daytime soap was rejected.
Sexy Spinning Around singer Minogue insisted she approached production company Grundy TV in the hope of securing a cameo role in the upcoming special, only to be ruthlessly turned away.
She said last month: "With my tour, I could only have done it if they filmed it in the UK. But they declined. It's a big shame."
But furious Grundy chiefs have rubbished Minogue's version of events, claiming the show's makers "made every effort to accommodate Kylie" in their anniversary celebrations.
A statement from Grundy details the efforts they made in trying to attach Minogue to the project, offering her the chance to "shoot a cameo appearance anywhere in the world at any time. The offer was declined".
