Four armed men have opened fire on a bus travelling near Brazil's borders with Paraguay and Argentina, causing it to crash and kill five people.

Four armed men have opened fire on a bus travelling near Brazil's borders with Paraguay and Argentina, causing it to crash and kill five people.

The driver lost control of the bus after he was hit by a bullet. It then plunged into a stream near Iacri, 300 miles west of Sao Paulo.

The gunmen boarded the crashed bus and robbed the injured passengers, police said.

It is unclear how many deaths and injuries were caused by gunshots and how many resulted from the crash.
