FAI confirm attempts to reconcile McCarthy and Keane
It has been confirmed this evening that the FAI are trying to find a way to get back Roy Keane back into the Irish squad.
The Chief Executive of the FAI, Brendan Menton, is to explore with Mick McCarthy a way of getting Roy Keane into the squad without loosing face.
It comes after the FAI said yesterday it was backing Mick McCarthy. Former FAI boss and member of UEFA, Des Casey, says Brendan Menton will explore every possibility of a reconciliation.
"He will be meeting with Mick McCarthy during the next 7-8 hours. It is night time there now. It is just to explore if there is any method by which there could be reconciliation.
"Myself and my colleagues are not very optimistic but that it is the situation at the moment."
