Gardaí and customs officials in Dublin have arrested three men after the seizure of two million cigarettes worth €860,000.

Gardaí and customs officials in Dublin have arrested three men after the seizure of two million cigarettes worth €860,000.

The goods were brought into Dublin Port several days ago and were this afternoon being loaded from a container to a truck at the Greenogue Business park in Newcastle, Co Dublin when officers swooped.

Two lorries, a van and a car were also seized as part of the investigation.

Three men - two aged 44, the other a 38-year-old - were arrested at the scene and are now being questioned at Clondalkin and Ballyfermot garda stations.
