A woman has been beaten with hammers by two youths who stole her jeep in south Belfast.

A woman has been beaten with hammers by two youths who stole her jeep in south Belfast.

The 53-year-old care assistant was dragged by the hair from the vehicle on Finaghy Road North shortly before 5pm yesterday.

The youths then drove off in the direction of Andersonstown in the west of the city.

The woman escaped serious injury but was badly bruised and is suffering from shock.
