The ISEQ-index of Irish shares made modest gains this evening up 52.77 at 9419.53 points.
All the financial heavyweights recorded a much brighter day with IL&P charging ahead with a 35c increase at €19.15.
Bank of Ireland also made significant gains up 25c at €15.42 while AIB and Anglo Irish Bank made 19 and 12 c increases at €20.68 and €15.12 respectively.
Elsewhere Ryanair climbed another 6c on foot of reports that the no-frills airline climbed almost 4.35 million passengers in June, in an 18% jump on the same month last year.
However the overall percentage of seats filled - dropped two points to 85%.
Last month, when it issued annual results, Ryanair warned on more modest profit growth of 5% in the current year as fares fall due to more competition and weaker demand.
