Alex Ferguson has admitted he is in the dark over Malcolm Glazer’s plans for Manchester United.

The American business tycoon is expected to lodge a formal bid with the Old Trafford board today, the latest step on a seemingly unstoppable march towards total ownership.

Although there has been no official word from the Glazer camp throughout the takeover process, there have been suggestions he is willing to offer the Scot a lucrative five-year deal to continue as manager.

“I always look forward, and I do so again, but we’ll just have to wait and see what is going to happen,” he told the Scotsman.
