New setback for West Brom's Gera
West Brom midfielder Zoltan Gera has suffered another setback in his bid to recover from a double hernia operation and is ruled out of Sunday’s Premiership match at Wigan.
The Hungarian skipper came off the substitutes’ bench to score from the penalty spot in last weekend’s FA Cup encounter with Reading but has since felt a reaction to the problem.
Kanu and Neil Clement are sidelined with fractured cheekbones with the former finding out on Monday from a specialist whether he will be able to participate in the African Nations Cup with Nigeria.
Geoff Horsfield or Kevin Campbell is likely to replace Kanu with Darren Moore continuing to deputise for Clement alongside Curtis Davies.
