A Spanish fisherman has been taken to hospital in Tralee after suffering serious injuries on board a fishing vessel off the Kerry coast.

A Spanish fisherman has been taken to hospital in Tralee after suffering serious injuries on board a fishing vessel off the Kerry coast.

The man was taken from the vessel from the trawler by the Fenit lifeboat at around 8am today.

He had suffered head and shoulder injuries during an incident on the vessel and had lost consciousness, but the seriousness of his condition is not known.
