Minister wins 'Gold Medal' for promotion of heart-health

Health Minister Micheál Martin has become the first Irish person to be given the Gold Medal Award from Europe's Society of Cardiology.

Health Minister Micheál Martin has become the first Irish person to be given the Gold Medal Award from Europe's Society of Cardiology.

He has received the honour in recognition of the national workplace smoking ban introduced this year and the Minister's promotion of heart health during Ireland's EU presidency.
