Sinn Fein slams British vilification of republicans

Sinn Fein vice-president Pat Doherty has described the purported discovery of an IRA "hit-list" as the latest salvo in a campaign of vilification against republicans.

Sinn Fein vice-president Pat Doherty has described the purported discovery of an IRA "hit-list" as the latest salvo in a campaign of vilification against republicans.

"It’s all coming from the British securocrats and from the Special Branch, who have a militaristic agenda all along," he said.

"Everybody knows that there is no threat to the peace process coming from republicans and no threat coming from the IRA. Quite clearly, they have been involved now for some weeks in a vilification campaign and the blaming of republicans where the focus of the problem lies all the time within their own ranks."
