Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told by Norway coach Nils Johan Semb that his international future is secure even though he is not a regular at Manchester United.
"Of course I would have hoped that he would play more games, but I don't think this is a big problem," Semb said.
"Manchester United play so many games that he will always get his fair share of games. He is at a very big club, with three other very good strikers, and Sir Alex Ferguson lets them all play at different times. "
He added: "I saw the highlights of the game against Arsenal and I'm happy that he's playing well enough."
Solskjaer will be hoping to keep his place in United's attack for the trip to Elland Road following his goal in last Sunday's 6-1 demolition of Arsenal.
Andy Cole is serving the second of his three-match ban, while Ferguson will check on Dwight Yorke's fitness following his gruelling return journey from Jamaica, where he was playing in a World Cup qualifier with Trinidad and Tobago.
Ryan Giggs is not expected to figure because of his hamstring injury, while Roy Keane could also be sidelined with his knee problem.
