Former Meath selector Colm Coyle will be officially ratified as new Monaghan boss tonight.

Former Meath selector Colm Coyle will be officially ratified as new Monaghan boss tonight.

News broke yesterday that Coyle was primed to take over from Jack McCarville and star player Jason Hughes revealed: "I believe it was time for an outsider to come on board. He'll get the best out of us and he'll get great respect from the lads too."

Coyle won three All-Ireland as a Meath senior player and acted as a selector under Sean Boylan when he succeeded Frank Foley in 2000.
