Julia Tooth saddled her first winner over jumps as Psychiatrist charged home in the Racing UK Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle at Warwick.
The seven-year old had been running well over the course and distance last month until a mistake in the closing stages knocked him out of contention and he weakened to finish sixth.
His jumping was much better on this occasion which allowed him to stretch away to score by two and three-quarter lengths under Liam Heard.
Tooth said: “It has been hard to get the win but 50% of my jump horses have been placed.
“He has been throwing his chance away by making a mistake at the second-last but he jumped it better today which helped!
“We’ll see how he comes out of this but there is no reason why he won’t run again soon and he’ll jump a fence in the future.”
