AA urging motorists to prepare car for winter

The AA is calling on drivers to prepare their cars for winter now and not to become too complacent when it comes to car maintenance.

Motorists are being urged to pay attention to brake performance and their tyres as new figures show that 51% of vehicles serviced over the last year, required repairs to their the braking system.

The AA is also advising motorists to check the tread depth and pressure of their tyres, something that a third of drivers rarely, if ever, check.

The figures also reveal that on average each winter, a third of call-outs are as a result of flat or completely exhausted batteries.
