Armed raid on cash-in-transit van

An armed gang held up a cash-in-transit van at a Dublin shopping centre today.

An armed gang held up a cash-in-transit van at a Dublin shopping centre today.

Three men brandishing handguns threatened security staff making a delivery at the Killiney Shopping centre on Rochestown Avenue at around 10am.

They made their escape with an undisclosed sum of cash in a silver Cork registered Volkswagen Passat.

No shots were fired during the robbery and no-one was injured.

Two of the men wore dark balaclavas and the third had a grey hooded top concealing his face, gardaí said.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact Dun Laoghaire garda station.
