Southwell card switched to Lingfield

Thursday's fixture at Southwell has been transferred to Lingfield due to parts of the site remaining flooded, it was announced today.

Although the meeting was scheduled for the all-weather, the track had been hit by recent heavy rain and clerk of the course Jon Pullin had no option but to cancel following an inspection this morning.

However, a straight fixture switch will now be arranged with Lingfield Park.

"Racing on Thursday this week has had to be transferred to Lingfield," Pullin confirmed.

"There has been a significant improvement in conditions at Southwell, but around 25% of the stable yard remains flooded, as does parts of the grandstand and other areas of the site.

"In view of that and with further rain forecast later this week, we have had to transfer to Lingfield."
