Adams hints at more apologies from him

The President of Sinn Féin Gerry Adams has said he may have more to apologise for as part of the healing process for the Northern Ireland conflict.

Last month Mr Adams issued a landmark apology to the family of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe and other members of Irish security forces who were killed by republicans during the course of the conflict.

The comments, made during Dáil expressions of sympathy on the shooting dead of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe, drew ciriticism of hypocrisy from some parties.

Mr Adams said he must make apologies for the actions of the IRA in the past, in his role as a republican leader.
