Dumped Reinhardt wishes Hilton well

Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt has finally acknowledged he's been dumped - days after the socialite announced their split to the press.

Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt has finally acknowledged he's been dumped - days after the socialite announced their split to the press.

The hotel heiress confirmed rumours her six-month romance with baseball player Reinhardt was over on Tuesday by issuing a statement via her publicist.

The news appeared to come as a surprise to 'The Hills' star Reinhardt - when quizzed about the break-up shortly after Hilton's public confirmation, he told E! News: "No, that's not true. Everything is OK between us."

He is now coming to terms with the failed romance - but insists he will not be taking swipes at Hilton in the press because he wants no part of the "media circus" their split has become, reports TMZ.com.

A statement released by his representative read: "Doug refuses to take part in this ridiculous media circus. He wishes Paris and all of her future boyfriends the best of luck."

Meanwhile, Hilton already appears to have moved on from the relationship - she was spotted getting close to soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo at a Hollywood club on Wednesday night, just as news was breaking of the Portugal winger's record-smashing £80m transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid..
