Beyonce Knowles has hinted she's planning to turn her back on showbusiness in 2006 so she can start a family with boyfriend Jay-Z.

The Destiny's Child singer-turned-actress has been busy making albums and movies almost continuously over the past three years, but she insists that's all about to stop as she plans to take time off to become a mother.

And the savvy singer is making a handful of smart investments to make sure she can afford her time away from the limelight.

She explains: "I absolutely check my money. I get my statements every week and my mother helps me review them.

"My money in invested in property. I'm trying to set myself up so that in a couple of years, if I decide to settle down and have a family, I can."
