Planning permissions for the third quarter of this year were down almost 35%, while permissions for apartments were down a massive 84.3 percent.

Planning permissions for the third quarter of this year were down almost 35%, while permissions for apartments were down a massive 84.3%.

CSO figures out today show permissions were granted for 1,638 dwellings in that period.

That is compared to 2,512 units for the same period in 2011.

The stats also show planning permissions for houses specifically were down 18.4%

One-off houses accounted for 52% of all new dwellings granted planning permission.
