Rupert Grint cast a spell on crowds of well-wishers today as the Harry Potter star carried the Olympic Torch.
Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the film franchise, was cheered on by hundreds of locals as he left Middlesex University in north-west London for his leg of the torch relay.
The actor was mobbed as he ended his run, with spectators desperate for a touch of the torch.
Day 68 of the relay was undertaken in glorious sunshine, and Grint was happy that his workload was made easier by the route.
The 23-year-old said: “Running is kind of a new thing for me. I don’t usually run for anything, but it was all downhill so I was okay.
“I didn’t really know what to expect, it was all a bit of a blur. I’m just so proud to be a part of it.
“It’s amazing to see everyone so excited and really geared up for this – I think it’s going to be a great games.”
The crowd roared on the famous face running through their home town of Hendon.
“It was lovely to see everybody happy with positive energy,” said local baker Nadia Kashmiri. “People are happy to see everybody else happy and shouting so it was good.”
