Daft Punk 'leaks' confirmed as fake

Tracks purporting to be leaked from Daft Punk’s upcoming album have been revealed as fakes.

The 15-second advert released by the French dance duo during a break in US comedy sketch show ‘Saturday Night Live’ was never going to be enough for fans, as they eagerly scoured YouTube for any leaks.

What they found was four tracks, each named 'Daft Punk - Real Leak "No End 2013’, numbered one to four, uploaded by a user named ArtInstitute2011.

The videos got thousands of views with many praising the tracks with comments such as “this sounds really good!” and “Real or not, this is great”.

However, the tracks were soon confirmed as fakes.

“Hello everyone we are the art-Institue want to reveal the mystery that has haunted these days there (even if someone has solved itself :) ……….. You have heard these are not daft punk but four of our productions,” they stated on their YouTube channel.

“For us it was a great pleasure that someone has faith, even if only for a moment that everything was real and for this we offer you our apologies, renaming the video with the correct name, so that no more fall into the trap.”
