Ombudsman for Children's bill passed in Dail

The last piece of legislation of the 28th Dail, The Ombudsman for Children’s bill, has been passed.

The last piece of legislation of the 28th Dail, The Ombudsman for Children’s bill, has been passed.

The Ombudsman, who is independent of Government, will have two main roles.

Firstly, to promote the rights and welfare of children and also to investigate complaints against schools, public bodies and voluntary hospitals.
