A 20-year-old student who was beaten during a suspected homophobic attack in Derry over the weekend has been told he may lost the sight of one eye.

The Donegal man was assaulted by two others while walking along a street in Derry on Sunday.

He was punched in the face and knocked to the ground in what police believe was the latest in a series of homophobic attacks in the city.
